"Prima hotel!"

"Great location, very friendly staff"
This hotel has a wonderful location, right on the River Schelde and only 5 minutes walk from the main part of Antwerp. Breakfast was plentiful, ham, cheese, eggs, fruit, cereals, bread. It was excellent. the rooms could do with a little updating, they are very plain, but the bed was comfortable and there was a heater, as I was cold the first evening.

"Quirky Antwerp city centre stay"
Lovely friendly and quiet hotel on the Kaai, very close to city centre and next door to the famous Docks Cafe fish restaurant which is brilliant. We stayed in a studio which is across the road behind the hotel and was essentially self catering though breakfast was included in the rate and taken in the hotel main building. The studio apartment is reached via a street door and spiral staircase so not too good if you have large suitcases or if you don't like steep stairs. Carparking is also provided (€15/day) and is secure though off road and outdoors. Reception closes at 10pm so don't forget your room key which serves as the night door key. One hiccup was on our last morning as a miscommunication between staff meant the hotel was not open so we didn't get breakfast (Studio keys do not serve as night door keys to the main building). The hotel was apologetic and did offer breakfast by 10.30 when we were ready to leave so we took fresh fruit for our journey home. I would recommend the hotel to anyone wanting a nice quiet stay in the city centre at a rate that is very reasonable and is still in very close proximity to the cetre and all the attractions that Antwerp has to offer.

"Good location and friendly staff make up for tired rooms"
We booked this hotel primarily because of the location and the (relatively) good price, at 95 euros/night for a double including breakfast. The location was indeed perfect (5 minute walk to Grote Markt), and we were able to park next to the hotel for 15 euros/day. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and spoke several languages (Flemish, Dutch, German, French, Spanish and English). The breakfast was decent and convenient, but nothing to rave about: tea, coffee, orange juice, cereal, soft boiled eggs, rolls, a couple of meats, cheeses and pieces of fruit. There was a large spread, but none of it was more than ok in quality. The room itself was large, as was the bathroom (but there was only a bath, no shower). The free WiFi was a big bonus and worked well. I had ignored comments about how the hotel room was dirty because we're not incredibly picky, and I figured that those reviewers were. But, the room wasn't as clean or well-cared for as I would have expected for 95 euros a night. There were a couple of hairs in the bed that we brushed to the side, and we tried to ignore the dark stains on the pillows that we noticed when they slipped out of their cases. I never felt disgusted, but I never felt all that comfortable. I think a couple of simple and cheap upgrades are needed to make this place a bit more acceptable. All in all, because of the location, the WiFI, and the staff, I would probably stay here again-- but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who can't deal with a little grime...

"Cheap but dismal"
The staff here is friendly and helpful and almost make up for the dreariness of the place. The lobby is done in stunningly bad taste, and the rooms are just sad, plain, cheap. Michelin touts the "river views" but neglect to point out that there is a heavily travelled street and a parking lot between the hotel and the river. In short, it's not dangerous or dirty and within easy walking distance of the sights, but that's it. Oh, and the free wi-fi is really easy to use.
