Ambiotel ***

Stayed two days with my family (wife and kids 10 & 12). Got two adjoining double rooms. Rooms recently redecorated. Good bed. Got rooms facing away from the square. Which means quiet. Friendly staff. Good service in the bar. Good breakfast. Parked in the parking house just behind the hotel. The hotel has an arrangement with them for reduced prices. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ambi and in Tongeren.

This hotel is nice and I have (for the most part) always enjoyed my stay. The rooms have been newly rentivated and the location to all the shops is perfect. My only complaint is that one night I forgot my key and when the night staff let me in, he was VERY upset and treated me very nasty. Do yourself a favor and don't forget your key and you will have a great stay.

Stayed here AGAIN for one night in July 2009 Bridgett at the front desk was lovely and very helpful. Contrary to the previous review, there IS parking. There is a wonderful, safe, newer parking garage that is a short walk from the hotel. Take the elevator up and walk around the corner (1/2 a block walk) and you are at the hotel's front door. You can buy a 7 euro parking ticket at the hotel to leave this lovely parking garage. I stay here to attend the antique market in Tongeren and there is no better spot to stay as this location is ideal. Rooms have been updated, have a/c and good TVs, stocked mini bars, and room safes. The hotel rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. I always enjoy my stay here. It is a bit pricey, but you pay for the location. I paid 120 euros per night for a double including taxes and breakfast. Will absolutely come again and would recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Tongeren for the antique market!

We stayed for an extended period of time. The rooms smell horrible. There are twin beds. No A/C, rude staff, no parking and being woke at 5 am on a weekend for carnivals or the antique market was really annoying.
