"Niet goed!"
Mijn vrouw en ik zijn héél ontgoocheld over zowel het gerecht als de bediening. Na het misprijzen van het gerecht kwam er geen enkele reactie van het personeel. Om maar te zwijgen over de tijd van bediening. Allemaal studenten, wat een nachtmerrie. JM De Wette

"Special!?!?"
Forget negative judgment wrote about this place done by people THAT ARE NOT ABLE TO TRAVEL. Auberge is not an Hotel, but an auberge!?!? And this is for sure one of the best in Belgium: nice spot with a green terrace over a creek/river, cleaned room, smiling staff. After many years of spending time for business in Brussels, I decided to spend one week of holidays in Fiandre. It's simply extraordinary.... it looks like to be in france but with nice people. And this auberge is perfect for visit Bruge, Gent, ostenda....

"Tiny & dusty"
We can only hope that not all rooms of this hotel are as tiny as ours: no space for a decent seat (only one chair), the toilet is really next to the bath tub (and "really next" has to be interpreted litterally here), no room fridge, no balcony, no wardrobes, a rather small TV,... Add the dusty carpet underground to that, and the low acoustic isolation, and we can't agree with the 4 star status of this hotel, even if it has a one-Michelin-star restaurant in it (that - by the way - also not really deserves its star). On the plus side: the wonderful view on the river the Leie, and lots of parking space.

"Well located for visiting the Flemish Ardennes, Gent and Bruges"
I only have good things to say about this hotel. A delightfully peaceful location, our room and the restaurant overlooking a countryside canal and fields to some woods. We were lucky to be upgraded to a junior suite which was located in the building next door, a few yards from the main reception. Beautiful, spacious room which is tastefully decorated and has free wifi; a bath and separate shower with luxury soaps etc; high quality, enormous bath towels; with same quality reflected in the bed linen. We had a marvellous night's sleep. I would stay here again like a shot. Breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit salad, croissants, pains au chocolat, lovely hams and cheeses. Our only regret is that we were unable to eat in their restaurant having (foolishly) had a late lunch in Brussels. Never mind, next time. . . .

"Nice room, excellent food!"
We were here some months ago and WOW what a stay! Nice room with a modern bathroom. Free wifi is always a warm welcome to your modern guests. And then the food... the restaurant was closed, so we had dinner in the Auberge... I had a steak tartare, simple but also tricky... but this one... was marvellous! There is a nice vinotheque. Expensive wines, but you can order an exclusive wine by glass in stead of a bottle. The breakfast was also nice. A place to come back again! Two tips: 1) Ask for a room in the main building.. after a nice dinner with lovely wine you can crawl back to your room instead of crossing the street..;-) 2) be careful on the stairs.. it was too dark and the stairs are black colored.. I missed a step...
