Belfort ***

I've been staying at the Belfort in Poperinge for 12 years now. It's a nice town in the centre of the Belgium hop growing region so ideal for beer buffs. Ieper (Ypres) and the WWI sites are all close and the town has its own WWI connections with Talbot house. The hotel is right on the square so perfect central location. It's a great place to start stay as a one nighter en route as you've done the channel crossing and its 5 minutes from the French motorways and not far onto the Belgium motorways. Bruno and Sabine and the staff are great.We did have a very stern waitress one evening! Food is excellent, especially the game in season. Rooms are spotless and comfortable. Had a very good weekend and enjoyed sitting and chilling over breakfast, dinner and drinks in the outside tables of the Belfort watching the world go by in the centre of Poperinge.

We stayed here for two nights and found Bruno the owner and the rest of the staff to be more than helpful. Bruno spent considerable time organising a taxi for us to go to a nearby town.The rooms were very clean and comfortable, well equiped bathrooms and a plentiful breakfast. Great place to sit and enjoy the passing life on the square. Very helpful pleasant staff. Very good value.

Bien placé mais la chambre donnait sur la place, donc hyper bruyant! A 95€ la nuit on s'attend à un minimum bah on a a vraiment juste le minimum! Petite chambre, pas propre, idem pour la sdb. Et a ce prix la on n'a même pas de pdj! Nous y sommes allés suite à un problème avec une autre réservation et nous n'y retournerons pas, surtout a ce prix la!
