Cinéhotel Capitole **

"Charming hotel for a great value"
Very friendly staff (limited reception hours), a clean and nice room who was recently refurbished. Very good breakfast served in the bar with enough choice of bread. We went to cinema in the hotel and it was a beautifull theatre from the 50's. We will come back.

"Hotel with lots of potential, but delivers little"
The Hotel Capitole, on it's website promises alot - it's own cinema, bike hire, quick transport to Brugge and Ghent so an alternative to the expensive hotels in those city's. It offers all this, and a friendly reception, however thats as far as it goes. The bed was so soft, we kept rolling into the middle, the doors /windows didn't close properly and even when we did manage to get them closed, the noise from the street was so loud it was difficult to sleep (and we were both very tired). Not too good given that we were there on a Sunday night..... Around 4 am the street noise died down, only to be replaced about an hour by the endless (and very loud) noise of the all the other guests showering and their related abolutions. Add to this the fact that the light in our room did not work (so as we had arrived late we had to get ready for bed with only 1 bedside light and the bathroom light). The room was very small and yet they had put a large wardrobe in the middle of the room, making it diffiult to move around the room. They offer free wifi, but there was only a locked wifi network and no information or means by which to access it. The surrounding area was also badly portrayed on the website, not nearly as quaint or with the culture that the website makes you believe..... I'd pay £10 more and stay at the lifeless ibis in Ghent....

"Quaint & Clean!"
This hotel is extremely clean! The rooms are not as small as some European hotels we had stayed in. The bed was very comfortable. The price of the room included a delicious breakfast in the very lovely dining room near the reception desk. Hard boiled eggs, meats, cheeses, delicious breads, juices, coffee, etc. Excellent breakfast! The hotel was a 5 minute walk to the train station in Aalter. From there, you are only a 30 minute train ride from Bruges or Gent. The town the hotel is located in is clean and safe - there were bikes lined up at the train station with out locks - we were amazed! The theatre inside of the hotel was unfortunately not open during our stay, but from the sneak peak the hotel manager gave us of it, it is amazing! Highly recommend this hotel to budget-minded travellers!

"INCUBO"
Quattro notti pessime.
