"Do Not Go There"
No Friendly welcome & barely a grunt on leaving,Breakfast is a plate of grease with thin bacon and a mishmash of egg .Continental looked better but uncovered and had flies on it so not appealing.I was charged 10euros to park, only to find carpark locked.I parked elsewhere ,owners were very rude and would not refund fee.Rooms not up to much, cans in mini bar were rusted. toilet uncomfortable to use, very weird set up.All rooms noisy from about 5am as the trams shake the building,They have a lift but only one very slim person at the time, and be carefull on the stairs very tight and steep

"A warm and welcoming family owned hotel"
My wife and I stayed in this hotel over Christmas 2010 for three nights. It was a warm and welcoming haven. We enjoyed the best breakfasts we have had (outside of the Isle of Man!), and the room had a nice big new TV. It had free adjacent parking, and was very close to the main square in Blankenberge and the very convenient trams.

"Terrible! Try something different!"
Hope my review helps someone, hoping for a nice and quiet stay at an ocean resort: this hotel is terrible and this word fully describes it's essence. 1 - We asked for a quiet room, and apparently were given one, but the hotel receptionist did not warn us that all hotel rooms face the main street with the tram lines and there is no way they can be quiet! 2 - Entering the hotel we've been greeted by the 'flavor' of Chinese dishes cooking, actually frying, and that smell prevailed through all our 3 days of stay. 3 - The rooms are very-very small, hardly fitting a bed, the bathroom is old and the bathroom curtain requires replacement. 4 - The staff is not friendly at all, hardly talking to you, our knowledge of English and French did not help much - unfortunately, we did not know any Chinese as this is the only language freely spoken by the staff and the owner. 5 - We tried to leave the hotel earlier than our booking was, talked to the owner, but he, being very rude, did not even want to listen to us, saying we booked through the booking.com and shall pay them our full stay and he does not care if we leave earlier or not. 6 - Breakfasts were scarce with the 'chef' wearing a stained apron every day.

"Nice hotel on very good location"
We have stayed in this hotel during 2 nights. Location of the hotel is very good; near the market place where you can find several nice restaurants and cosy bars and the beach is only about 5 minutes walking away. Welcome was nice; very friendly and hospitable and we were given a room immediatly although we arrived rather early; half past 12. We had chosen the cheapest room (65 euro a night including breakfast) and the room appeared to be on the 3rd floor which could be reached by a very small elevator. In fact; I have never seen such a small elevator. The room was very small also but very bright and very clean. The bed was not too small for us (we are both about 1,75m) and very comforable. Bathroom was adequate and clean but the shower curtain was (to our surprise because the rest of the room is so very clean) covered with many mould spots which was rather dreadful. Water-pressure is not too good either. Breakfast was really nice and it is nice that the owner aks you how you want your egg; boiled or fried and he is going to prepare it right away. We parked the car on a parking spot about 100meters away for only 5 euro a day which is really cheap. Parking spots around the hotel are usually occupied but when you are lucky you find such a spot and parking is free there.... I would stay in this hotel again because I think for 65 euro a night you get a good deal. I hope the shower curtain has been replaced by the next time I get there.....

"would pay more to stay somewhere better"
the hotel was quite cheap. they advertise free parking available which there is but it has nothing to do with the hotel its on one of the side streets and obviously it gets full very fast. they do have parking spaces which cost 5 euro a night which i thought was very good i dont know why they dont say this on there hotel page.. the rooms that we had were very very small the photos make them look so much bigger. one of the lights above the bed fell of the wall and just hang there from the wires. breakfast was the usual bread cheese and meat. they will make you scrambled egg and bacon. the bacon was paper thin and soaked in grease. if your only staying 1 night then i say its cheap so ok. but for a long weekend i would not stay here again i would rather pay more money and get a better room
