"Nice stopover in old atmospheric hotel"
We needed a stopover on our way from the UK to Scandinavia, and this little hotel filled all our needs. It is located close to a large beach with lots of restaurants and bars where we could get an evening snack, as we were arriving late. The hotel has a cosy bar and the breakfast was very nice. It also has a parking space outside for a small fee. Wi-fi didn't work though. Staff (Natascha from Holland) was very friendly and chatty, and even rang us up on our way to there to confirm our arrival. Rooms were ordinary but also very atmospheric (I love everything that's not brand new!). It was perfect for us for a stopover, and I would have loved to stay an extra day. I slept like a baby and will definitely consider this hotel again.

"Expensive overpriced hotel"
Room was in desperate need of repair and update. Paper was shoddy and coming off the wall, curtains and bedding so old, this room cost us nearly 100 Euro as was also charged for the car park another extra 7 euro 50. Room cost was 85 euro and actual final payment for 92.50 what a ripoff. Sorry ! The breakfast was good and so it should be charging this amount of money Restaurants in the area are expensive average 18 Euro per person for basic food.

"OK for stopover."
Stayed here for one night en route to Germany: it's an easy journey from Dunkerque ferry. Our room was clean, if a bit worn in places but the bathroom was tiny. Cold water tap didn't work, but shower was very good. No hairdryer. Restaurant was closed on the day we were there but plenty of choice within 5 minute walk. Breakfast was excellent. Staff was excellent.

"Great location, excellent breakfast, great value I will be returning."
If you are looking for a centrally located reasonable hotel and your expectations are not too high this is the place for you, it is clean and the breakfast was very good masses of choice all good quality food. The staff were polite and helpful. The outside of the hotel is classic 1920's. (They need to get rid of that shabby sign it lets them down badly). They have private secure parking for 7.50 euros per stay. The downside is the rooms are small but the bed is comfy, the flatscreen tv receives some UK channels and the bathroom is modern and clean.I think they have made a mistake with their decor trying to go for a contemporary provence look in the rooms, I thought the sandy colour washed walls made the room look like you had stripped the wallpaper and were midway through decorating and the bare floorboards although lovely condition (because they had been under lovely thick carpet for years my hubby tells me) made the room feel...I wouldn't say cold because it wasn't cold just not cosy. You have to remember this part of the coast is usually very breezy so when indoors it's nice to feel snug. And of course you remove the carpets and you do get a bit of footfall noise from the room above something they hadn't thought about. I guess. Soundproofing from outside noise was good though. The public rooms and hallways have a lovely period feel I think when renovating they should have tried to keep in with the style. Our room had a massive antique wardrobe, lovely but unecessary in such a small space and a put u up bed! So there was very little room to move about. Really only suitable for 2, I dread to think how you would manage with 2 adults and a child there. I didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening so I can't comment on that. But I would return as it's great value and when away you spend very little time in your room and my priority is location, cleanliness, cost and breakfast and it's a winer on all of those!

"Excellent and reasonable place to stay"
Stayed for one night over a weekend in February which we all thoroughly enjoyed. The hotel has a lovely continental feel to it and the rooms are clean and very good. We had the family room which for three people worked out under £30 each which is wonderful value! Would highly recommend this hotel and and we all love De Panne too! Btw- there's a fab little coffee bar/ restaurant on the corner on the main high street, pretty much opposite the front of the hotel...unfortunately I can't remember it's name (as I'd leave a proper review) but it's a wonderful relaxed, chilled place to have a drink, a bite to eat and stay late. Cool music and the owners and employees are warm and friendly. As we left very late that night, they gave us free croissants too!
