The Imperial ***

We arrived at 1.30 am and the man who works nights could not have been more accomodating. Room was lovely, breakfast had a very good selection. Parking was no problem at all - underground car park next door. Very comfortable hotel. Could find nothing negative at all, which is a first for me.

I have stayed many times over the years here but have not returned for six or seven years. The public areas have been completely redone and the price of the room includes free WiFi The breakfast room is a lot more comfortable and the breakfast buffet also included in the room rate, is adequate and varied. The hotel's location cannot be beat and the staff courteous and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and I appreciated the soundproof window to ward off the noise of some late night traffic and party goers. It is a full-blooded 3 star hotel and if you want a a sound hotel experience I recommend it.

The rooms are fine and clean. My one complaint was the lack of a shower curtain and it is just a hand held shower so the bathroom got quite wet. The hotel garage is 18€ per night and is dark and dingy and away from the hotel, I would recommend the public spaces which are safe and well lit. Ostende is a lovely town which is being expanded lovely restaurants and good beach

Very nice hotel near the beach in Oosende. Hotel itself is rather old fashioned but very well maintained and clean. Pluses: Clean Close to the beach, Close to center, it is quite it's cheap Food is good Frendly personel Rooms are big Bed is comfortable Minuses The hotel parking is rather expensive (i suggest using the public one) The view from the hotel is not exactly good

Last weekend we have stayed in this hotel at the Belgian coast, this was our first experience with a hotel in Ostend and it was terrible! By reviewing the hotelwebsite we had a positive view on the hotel, rooms, environment but nothing was more contradictory. The hotel was really outdated and urgently needs to be renovated and reminds of old, very old glory. The room itself had a strange blue colour theme and thick carpet and felt a bit claustrofobic, also the bathroom only had a bath (no shower facilities and this was not mentioned anywhere!) and there was a sewer smell. I must say everything was clean but due to it's ancient look not seemed very neat. The reception we had when arriving was friendly, the receptionist had night duty and would be there all night. He better did something about the noice outside, I must say! As we haven't slept good at all... there was a lot of street noice of people partying in their car just in front of the hotel. We have not parked at the garage of the hotel as it was full so we used the casino parking nearby, it costs us 18€/day, so this added another price to this already expensive non valuable weekend. The hotel website mentions that it's a non smoking hotel, but it seemed that when paying 30€ extra you can smoke in your room - looks like everyting has it's price!! Also the same with pets, no pets allowed but there where dogs in the room next to ours whining and barking early in the morning. Breakfast was standard, not too bad, friendly service though. To say the last issue, weather was cloudy and rainy but no one can do anything about this.. and we are not that picky, just wanted to have a lovely romantic weekend on the seaside... NOT!
