"Zeer slecht"

"Our favourite short break destination"
We have been going here for the last 4years. It is quieter, cheaper and more chilled than the UK centreparcs. I would strongly recommend for family breaks. The pool is never packed and the local town, Lommel has everything you need, including a Del Haize supermarket. Just over the border in Holland there is a village with a great ice cream parlour. The only problem is the opening hours seem random.

"Good weekend getaway"
We just spent a weekend here, having spent many other stays here before (I think it was our 7th stay). This is as good as a 'classical' Center Parcs will ever get, although at some ends it starts showing its age. We stayed in a 'fully renovated' bungalow, which according to their own publicity got an extreme makeover. In the words of the reception staff : new curtains, new flooring (parquet) and new kitchen utensils. Probably new furtniture as well. I do not want to knwo how the non-refurbished bungalows look like. Probably old and dated. So go for one of the newer ones if you take an Original Bungalow. The Premium and VIPs have long been renovated as I recall from a previous stay. The bungalows were functional as ever. No surprises there. Beautifully located by the lake and a solid 15 min walk to the Aqua Dome. Some bungalows are nearer, some a farer, that is the luck of the draw in Center Parcs. The Auqa Mundo was as good as ever. Nice choice of slides and rapids, good water temperature. I do not know how they do it CP, but although you can clearly smell the usage of chlorine in the water, your eyes DO NOT show any signs of it. I swim w/o glasses and my eyes are still white. We have not tested the restaurants, as I find them hideously expensive for what it probably is. Go there if you want to - but in a self catering cottage you are better off cooking yourself. Only real downpoint was the poolside burger bar, where you have to bring paticience (like half a hour patience) for your burger and chips. There is no haste in the food preparation and it is one order after the other. So be warned. Other than that. This a is a good Center Parcs, located in a very nice place (of Belgium). Easiliy accessed from everywhere

"A Terrible Disappointment"
We (family of six with 4 teenage boys) booked a VIP 6 person villa for a long weekend. We chose this Center Parcs because we had been before, the kids loved the indoor skate park and the discover scuba activity. Good Points first - Staff largely friendly and try to be helpful, site very pretty and lots of gorgeous wildlife, Scuba activity excellent (when the instrucor shows up)however: 1) The VIP Cottage (apparently redecorated only 2 months ago) was in a terrible state. After 4 separate trips to thre reception desk because the electronic key cards would not work, we finally found the cottage with all the windows open (presumably) to let out the terrible smell of cigarette smoke and wet dog....Frankly nauseating. Sitting on the sofa that had milky white stains on the cusions, made the dog smelll even worse and was unbearable. There was no toilet paper and no dishwasher tablets. The sauna door frame has been ripped away leaving 1 inch nails sticking out, the toilet roll holder fell off the wall completely when touched, the bed side lamp was covered in what looked like flecks of brown hair dye and the bulb was broken, the fridge would not cool below 9° and was missing a number of compartment covers. The WIFI was unaccessible because we were told this was the 'end' chalet and therefor had no WIFI near enough to it (we had paid 18 € for WIFI and were not refunded. The flooring buckled up to 3 cm in places due to water damage. The kitchen surfaces were stained grey and orange. The window locks were broken and the door handle had a screw sticking out from it. The garden and surrounding area was littered with building debris (nails, tiles, screws, plastic tape, small round cardboard things and load of cigarette butts). The lighing in the cottage is so poor that mos perople who need reading glassess will not be able to read in the evening. The buffet dinner is appalling (fat, greasy, unhealthy food that is well presented but completely tasteless and you will pay +/- 18€ on top of it for 4 soft drinks and 2 beers. As already mentioned in other reviews - don't take half-board as you will be forced to eat here (as were were) and FORCED is the word. A round of billiards will cost you 4 EUR and forget the indoor skate park - it no longer exists and the scuba? Well we showed up on time at 08h30 on the Saturday morning but the instructor did not. Re schduled to the next day we had to get up at 07h00 on both Saturday and Sunday... WE came home bitterly diappointed and frankly - this was our worst holiday in a very long time. The whole parc seems dilapidated and run down adn the quality of the 'renovation' work begs disbelief - the debris on the grounds is absolutely shocking.
