"stacaravan gehuurd op camping: nieuw en heel comfortabel"

"Compact and Bijou"
We stayed her in July 2010 for two nights. We have a very small camper van and found the site to be very crowded with tiny pitches. We upset our neighbours when we lit our bbq but what do they expect on a campsite. Location is great and you can easily walk in to the centre of Bruges from here, there is a lovely bakery through the woods if you go and find it for your morning pastries and there are supermarkets close by. This was the first site I needed toilet paper (as I found out the first time I went) and is probably the worst site I have pitched up on, but I am rather fussy, however, the location makes up for it and it was not noisy depsite the size of pitch and number of people there. I am sure there are worse out there. Not sure I would want to spend more than two days here, go to Ghent, they have a lovely campsite.

"Nice camping ground"
We stayed in the trekker cabin at memling and though it was small the roice was right for Bruge! It was clean, but quite hot as there was just a small exhaust fan. We were happy with the three cookers in the cabin and the bed were pretty good. A forest surrounds the camping ground and is very pretty. There are 3 huge supermarkets close by and a bas to the city takes about 10 minutes. The down side is the staff are quite rude and the bathrooms are abysmal, but it looks like there will be renovations done soon.

"Great campsite"
This is a small but pleasant campite near Bruges. Facilities are limited but perfectly adequate. The camping pitches are nice and even if you stay in a small tent you get your own pitch (as opposed to just pitching your tent somewhere in a field like so many campstes offer.) I would reccommend booking in advance, as it is a small campsite and they offer a pitch to every tent ( I believe it is also the only campsite near Bruge). We went in August and the campsite was full for one of the nights we were there and they put a sign outside saying 'no vacancies'. There is no shop on site, but we found this was not a problem as there are a couple of large supermarkets within short walking distance. The buses into Bruge were frequent and there is even a night bus which runs late. Bus timetables are easy to get hold of. The campsite staff were friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing so I would reccommend if you are looking for a peaceful stay. They request quiet after 10:30pm, which most of the guests respected.

"Fabulous, loved this place"
I have to stay I'm really surprised of the reviews on here. I can’t recommend this place enough. We had provisionally booked only two nights (mid-July) mainly due to my fears from the reviews of it on here, and as we were only arriving on the first evening I figured if it was really bad then we only had one more night to suffer before moving on. Well the campsite was a wonderful surprise, it couldn’t have been better. The location is in a very nice sub-urban area about 25 mins walk from the very centre point of Brugges city centre (15 mins from edge of city centre). The first time we went into explore the city centre we went by bus (bus stop 50 yards from campsite 2 euros into town (1.20 if you buy the ticket beforehand from petrol stations or shops) picks up from the stop it drops you at on the main sq and runs until 11.15) which was great but we found walking was nearly as quick and enjoyed the freedom plus the walk is a very nice route with lots of interesting things to see. So back to the campsite – very modern, set amongst a beautiful wooded area, big pitches, great facilities: internet 1 euro per hour on their pcs, nice relaxation lounge with big freezer for ice blocks (I only found it to be closed after 11pm) very clean toilet blocks, very clean hot powerful showers, everything seems to be run on solar power. The pitch was huge, very flat and couldn't have been better. I understand what others are saying about the recycling bins, but this was never a problem during our stay and the bins are in a corner of the campsite well away from everything else. A small family run campsite, with staff that couldn’t be more helpful. They also seemed to speak several languages fluently. Additionally there is a giant Carre Four about 5 mins walk away (they sold the best selection of beers / glasses they we saw in any Belgium supermarket, regrettably we didn't realise this until after we left). The campsite was very quiet and everyone was very nice and respectful, on some campsites you sometimes get a noisier group who stay up late, but this campsite was quiet from 9pm – 9am. We had a tent and had booked the 80m2 car and tent pitch (I think 24 euros total) which I would recommend as you would have less space on the tent field and I don’t think the cost was much different. So we extended to stay another night and with hindsight I wish we had stayed longer and perhaps used Brugges train station to visit other areas as it was so easy to get around. Brugges itself is just wonderful, so unspoilt. We enjoyed the city centre, going up the bell tower was a good thing to do and generally we wandered and spent lots of time in cafes eating and drinking beer whilst watching the world go by. I would highly recommend staying over in Brugges rather than day triping as the city is a different place in the evening, as most of the tourists have gone and it really is stunning as the lights start to fade. I have also written a trip report of our tour of Belgium if of interest.
